Welcome to the Hospitalist Program at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.

Our hospitalist team, led by Angela Kerchner, MD, the Medical Director of Inpatient Services and Emergency Department, specializes in providing comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients. As an inpatient in our hospital, you will be treated by one of our highly skilled hospitalists who work closely with other medical professionals to ensure that you receive the best possible care. In this page, we'll provide you with more information about our hospitalist program and how it benefits you as a patient.

What is a Hospitalist?

A hospitalist is a medical provider who specializes in treating patients who are hospitalized. Our hospitalists are trained to provide comprehensive medical care to inpatients, coordinating with other medical professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Why Will I See a Hospitalist Instead of My Primary Care Provider?

Hospitalists are specialized providers who are specifically trained to treat hospitalized patients. Seeing a hospitalist allows your primary care provider to focus on your care in the clinic, while ensuring that you receive the most up-to-date medical treatment possible during your hospital stay.

Does the Hospitalist Talk to My Primary Care Provider?

Absolutely. During your hospital stay, our hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider to ensure that they are informed of any important care updates. This collaboration helps to ensure that you receive seamless care, both in the hospital and after you are discharged.

When is the Hospitalist Available?

Our hospitalists are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can be assured that you will have access to our highly skilled hospitalist team.
