Biography

For pulmonologist Bryan Krajicek, MD, caring for patients with lung conditions is personal.

"They're not just a patient to me," he said. "I focus on the meaning behind what we're doing in caring for our patients, being available and being vulnerable. They're sharing things about their lives and health, and I want to listen and be willing to share things about my past or health to build confidence."

Among the things Dr. Krajicek shares is his own experience with asthma. "I know what it feels like at times to have difficulty breathing," he said. "Mine is a very mild condition, but I can relate."

Dr. Krajicek sees pulmonology patients at Methodist Physicians Clinic, and he also cares for patients in the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital Critical Care Unit. He has a passion for caring for patients with COPD and severe asthma, and he's recognized as a regional expert in the use of biologics  drugs that help prevent and manage asthma symptoms.

"They're absolute game-changers," he said. "With the advancements and these biologic medications we have available, I can truly help change a patient's life. That's really why I went into medicine."

Outside of work, Dr. Krajicek stays busy with his five children. He's also runs half- and full marathons with his wife.
