Angela Kerchner, MD

Medical Director of Inpatient and Emergency Medicine

Biography

Dr. Angela Kerchner is board certified in family medicine and obesity medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and Genesis Quad Cities Family Medicine Residency Program. For over ten years, Dr. Kerchner has focused on hospital and emergency medicine in rural communities across the state of Iowa. In 2018, she was the recipient of the Iowa Hospital Hero Award, granted by the Iowa Hospital Association as a result of her work focusing on improving the quality of care provided to emergency department patients in rural Iowa. Dr. Kerchner enjoys teaching and mentoring others in healthcare, with a passion for ensuring all patients are treated compassionately, respectfully and with the most up-to-date medical standards. Dr. Kerchner is currently serving as the director of hospital and emergency medicine at MCMH.

Other clinical interests include lifestyle and weight loss medicine, integrative holistic medicine, and mindfulness-based practices. Outside of work, Dr. Kerchner is an avid gardener, enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her husband, three children, and pets.
