Family Medicine

I first became interested in medicine while in high school. I was fascinated with the sciences of mathematics, biology and technology. I wanted to apply these things at a more human level. During medical school, Family Medicine provided an avenue where I could apply my knowledge and skill set to a wide variety patients, from families as well as all age groups. I enjoyed to cohesiveness of treating all members of the same family. I attended Creighton University Medical School. Family Medicine Residency was completed in Waterloo Iowa, a part of the Community Medicine Program through University of Iowa Medical School. I have been board-certified in Family Medicine since residency completion. I enjoy all aspects of medical care, but I have developed a special interest in management of hypertension, diabetes, and other chronic disease which seem to be prevalent in our world today. I enjoy the relationships that I have built over the years with patients. I am always humbled by the trust patients have placed not only in me, but in our entire staff. We will strive to get the best care possible for every patient, every time. The application of quality, effective, compassionate care for every member of the family. I appreciate being a part of a quality cohesive team with longstanding roots in the community. I foster the trust patients place in me every day. I strive to deliver competent quality care. I especially enjoy the educational opportunities our office can provide to patients as well as medical and nursing students who rotate through our office. Being able to make complex topics more understandable makes for a better experience for all. I enjoy providing care for the entire family; understanding the intricacies of family relationships helps provide better care. I enjoy traveling, bicycling, family time and reading.
