Cancer Support Groups & Programs
Total patient care is not just providing medications needed to heal the body, it is also providing care and support for the emotions that often accompany a cancer diagnosis. Patients, caregivers, and their families are encouraged to utilize our services to achieve the best possible outcome.
Cancer Survivor Support Group
The Cancer Survivor Support Group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 11:30am in the MCMH Conference Room. A cancer diagnosis brings questions, fears, and unknowns. This group provides an opportunity to discuss cancer-related issues with people coping with the same type of situation in a relaxed environment, while enjoying a free lunch from the cafeteria.
Journeys Grief Support Group
Journeys is a support group that provides a safe, supportive atmosphere to learn about and understand the grief process, to share grief experiences, and to search for a renewed sense of meaning and purpose in life. The six-week class is held multiple times throughout the year. There is no registration fee. For more information contact our Patient Advocate, Judi Erickson at (712) 623-7288.
